My favorite tree

Boozhoo 2025
Sharing my first painting of the year of one of my favorite trees; a Norwegian Spruce (acrylic on recycled canvas) My favorite tree crush is located in a cemetery and I think under neath its slinking branches would be the perfect place to be buried. Maybe when I die I’ll be decomposed and mycorrhizal fungi will soak up my memories and released into flowers of favorite moments.
Norwegian Spruce Trees are climate crusaders. Their dense forests are vital in the fight against climate change, locking away carbon dioxide and giving us cleaner air in return. It’s a natural heavyweight in the green ring, punching above its weight in the global effort to curb greenhouse gases.
Spruce tips can be used in tea for lung congestion and in oils and salves for muscle relief.
Spruce trees are also seen as magical.
The ancient Pagans believed in the power and magic of our natural world. During the darkest months they carried entire Spruce trees (or large branches of soft spruce) into their homes to celebrate the light and life when the winter months were over.
There will be lots of things in the coming months that feel like it’s taking your magic. There will be things that happen that feels like it’s stealing magic in the world. But magic is still out there, and all you have to do is meander and admire to soak in the mystic. It will be important for us to lock in our wizard hats and know that your magic is always in you-and we need it now more then ever ❤️
